For a more hands-on experience, visit the Little Naturalists program at the Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park. This program is hosted by the Mansfield Activities Center and will run from 10:30am to 11:30am on Wednesday, May 22nd. Early bird admission is $7, and regular admission is $9. Little naturalists will learn about the creatures of nature through games, activities, and animal encounters.

The park was purchased from the Williams family in 2004 and named after Elmer W. Oliver. It’s 80-acre property was constructed in three phases, phase I being the outdoor elements and phase II being the 2.7 mile trail that leads to Joe Pool Lake. The third phase of the park includes the indoor Nature Center and Learning Lab, where children can learn more about the park’s ecosystems. For the younger ones, the park offers hands-on experiences like climbing a tree and viewing the area from a vantage point.
